Ducks coach Erik Chinander has talked with Scott Frost but 'right now, it's Oregon Ducks'
EUGENE — Ever since Erik Chinander and Scott Frost came together in 2007 to coach Northern Iowa's defense together, they've been close.
Frost joined Oregon's staff in 2009 to coach receivers and a year later Chinander arrived as an intern, where he stayed for three seasons before leaving with Chip Kelly for his first staff with the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles. In 2014, Chinander returned as a full-time outside linebackers coach.
So upon Frost's hiring as Central Florida's head coach Nov. 29, it made sense he might attempt to lure Chinander to his first staff, possibly with a promotion to defensive coordinator. The two have talked since Frost's hiring, Chinander acknowledged.
