Was in Orlando Thursday and stopped there with my friend. Think we went to some placed called Tin Roof?

Given how much they built there, and how much already exists, Sand Lake is going to be near impossible to drive on soon. It took us 15 minutes just to make a left turn when leaving there and the Eye isn't even open yet.

They're building that new rollercoaster there too, aren't they? That place is going to be a hellhole soon.

That said, the Eye looks kinda cool.

Restaurant Row (Sand Lake Rd to Dr Phillips) is already almost undriveable...for lunchtime and dinner.

Good thing about I-Drive is that there are options (i.e. used to be Republic, believe its Universal Blvd now), as one can wind around to Univ off Kirkman (short cut thru) and Universal usually flies (easy to get to Pointe Orlando, Convention Center, etc...), well, till the I opens.

I have no clue how people live off Dr Phillips/Bay Hill/535 area...the daily tourist traffic is insane.

NOTE: Orlando Eye did have some special online reservation pricing for pre-opening tours...have a friend that got a date/time for an upcoming weekend (1st weekend in May?)

that area of IDrive has changed substantially in the last 3 years. Traffic for locals stinks but for conventioneers without cars, that area becomes like the Vegas strip in that the entire area caters to walk up / pedicab traffic.

Like K_L said you just need to use Universal blvd instead of international and getting around the area becomes a breeze. It's amazing how different the south side is from the north side.

At least they built a parking garage next to it with one of the exits to Universal Blvd. You have to be a tard to drive through the Sand Lake-International intersection.

That intersection is almost a "breeze" compared to Sand Lake-Turkey Lake (which backs up Sand Lake & I-4).

At least one can use Universal/Sand Lake as a back-up for Sand Lake/I-Drive...but Sand Lake/Turkey Lake is a cluster F to the 9th degree.

Can't imagine living in that area and dealing with that on almost a daily basis.

Yeah, like in 2009 before I was laid off. To west Tampa and back to Lakeland. 38 miles each way. No thanks.
