Is it time for a new cocach?

So Art. Who do you you want to be the new cocach???? Any suggestions? Or is that cockroach?

What school did you attend that didn't teach you to proofread your assignments before you turn them in??

USF??? UF???

Is that who you will be following now??

Useless poll since he's not going anywhere. So.., what will this poll accomplish???

You mean there's a time when polls on message boards aren't useless?

I care less about firing GOL than I do getting a good product on the field. Not sure if GOL just doesn't have the time these days to run the team. Or maybe Key is just that bad. Or both. Don't care -- just needs fixed ASAP.

I agree. He probably doesn't need to be the AD right now.

Again, 1 losing season in 4 -- assuming we have a losing season (more likely than not) -- won't get any coach fired in any program.

However ... if the Freshmen don't learn this year and start to improve late as well as into next year, then GoL will be up for replacement.

It's more likely Hitt would let him retire.

All true. He's gone after this year or next, so I don't know what all the fuss is about. Why can't these guys just support their team until then??

So immature. It's the "about me" society and I want things "changed now"

No person who quits on something so quickly and easily can possibly be successful in life. Things just don't work that way.

The real issue is if it's a problem with Key, no OC would come here knowing GOL is stepping down. My fear is we're stuck.

Sadly, society isn't any different as of late.

That's why we have corporations solely focused on quarterly reports, and fabrication moving to China and Mexico, even if that destroys a company 2-3 years down the road.

I thought Hitt did a good job of addressing this.

Hitt wants a clean, GoL-like program. If Key doesn't produce, he will get someone else. But it will still be GoL-compatible.

UCF is an old skool-like run program. That won't change. Orsini installed it, Hitt won't let it go. Get over thinking it will.

Seriously ... UCF will not go back to a Coach K like run program. Sorry guys, get over this "we need energy" argument.

No, what I'm talking about is now. There's no possibility we fire Key midseason and get some good replacement. It isn't happening. After the season, if it were to be addressed -- let's assume GOL doesn't retire -- it'll put us in a tough spot. No OC is going to want to come here for a one and done. Unless something really unexpected happens I think the staff is done at the end of the year. And I'm not saying that as anti-GOL. It's just reality. I'm curious to see how GOL manages the team from here on out.

There's no way he's coaching 2 more years after this. That's why all this arguing (not you) is so unnecessary. Just support your team until then.

I can't wait to the predictable clowns Monty, Firm and AAC post some sort of hallelujah picture on here after its announced.

Just wait and see.

This is the issue with the huggers. KEY HAS NOT PRODUCED! Why are we waiting another year and a half to realize Key should not be the OC or the next head coach? If that's the case and GOL loves him then a new AD needs to be brought in immediately and Key needs to be relieved of OC immediately. Call President Hitt this week 407-823-1823

Of course you support the team! They're good and talented kids. The rash of injuries is making things worse but I think we all expect better even from a young team. Leaving Harris in all second half? I've defended the coaches a ton, but they didn't do much to help this young team get going against Furman.

Did you call Hitt and tell him to do the same with Taffe? Especially after he started Robcal again and again?

I give every coach a full year ... minimum, whether I agree with their promotion or not. But apparently here at UCF, we don't even let coaches have 3 games, let alone just 1. How does that work well for our coaching search?

Coaches are going to be interested in UCF because Hitt is loyal and gives coaches time to implement their system. But most of all, Hitt expects off-the-field more than on-the-field. You'd be surprised how many coaches like a program where that's the focus.

It's amazing all of the comments I'm seeing here.

Key will get his year whether anyone here likes it or not. But he's definitely on the hot seat.

Firing the head coach in season is never good for any program, even after the season hurts the program a bit. What George needs to do is set a departure date so fans know when he'll be gone and recruits don't have the uncertainty of not knowing when he'll be stepping down. It will also inspire the players to fight hard for him that last season a D send him out a winner.

GOL is staying until his contract runs out. He has a sweet deal, no reason to leave.

Nobody needs to be fired mid-season. However, announced retirements in November would be nice so that we could get a jump on finding new coaches.

So far when we've had coordinators that haven't performed well, he let them go and brought in new guys. We lost a very good OC and our DC got plucked. I've been pretty satisfied by the staff decisions O'Leary has made throughtout his tenure. Nobody gets to say 100% of your hires are good hires.

Great point about Rocal. We could have asked for volunteers from the crowd and almost been as successful that year. Sadly, Rocal was the best qb on the roster that year. 2009 was only saved by bringing in Hodges or else that would have been another abysmal season.

Ooops. Sorry for the typo. I forgot I was turning this in for credit.
