Perhaps, but it teaches us all something even more important ...... that's there's no substitute for the firm hand of a father in the home. I'm sure that if this punk had a father that actually stuck around and gave a damn, maybe he'd be a more respectful and productive citizen.

What's sad is that it took a police officer--who's probably not much older that this idiot is--to finally teach him some respect. That should have been the role of his father.

I think at some point she did say something to the effect of, "I didn't call you over here to pick a fight with my son"

And that's the cliff notes of what happen. Yes the kid is a punk, an idiot, and was mouthing off; and no one should feel an ounce of sorrow for him. But are cops supposed to try and prevent violence or incite it? Can't tell from the video and the praise here. If this was just a neighborhood "father figure" I'd be all for what happened.

What if the fight went the other way? The kid lands a lucky haymaker and starts pounding on the cop while he's on the ground. He likely gets tased (or shot) by the other cop and gets sent to prison for a few years (or the morgue).

Granted, the cop should not have escalated the situation like he did. However, I'm sure this cop has taken more shit from the community where he had to remain professional. This is probably a lot of pent up frustrations that he released. Not saying the cop was right but sometimes it's just nice to see eye for an eye punishment.

If that kid had knocked that cop out, he be dead or in jail right now. This cop abused his position. The kid was an a-hole, but police sign up to deal with people like this.

So the officer has been on unpaid suspension since this happened and his trial was scheduled to start yesterday. He's also in the process of a lawsuit with the state for discrimination over all of this.
