Have any of you compared stats between Tulane and UCF so far this year?

Point per game:
UCF: 12.5
Tulane: 18.3

Points allowed per game:
UCF: 23.2
Tulane: 36.3

Passing yds per game:
UCF: 173.2
Tulane: 238.3

Rushing yds per game:
UCF: 70.5
Tulane: 100.3

Is it December already?

So 2/3rds as many points scored ...

With 3/4ths the offense.

I like our chances in this game, given the above statistics.

Thanx for posting something that actually made me feel better about our chances.

Of course you would post something like this, Mister Silver Lining.

No, no, you missed my point.

I was already thinking we were going to lose. But because you seemingly suck at elementary interpolation (I only have this thread to go by, but it at least one example), you actually posted statistics that work in our favor! That's why I said ... you actually raised my spirits!

It's not that I was trying to be hopeful, but the rates you posted means we have a better chance than I thought.

Of course you look at it that way, Mister Silver Lining.

GOL wins against Tulane - lifetime contract. Lose against Tulane - hes guaranteed for 2016 regardless.

The latter is likely true. You don't fire a coach for one losing season.

Back-to-back on the other hand ...

Two 0-12 seasons is unprecedented for any coach in modern times...but we're UCF and we're different.

GoL isn't responsible for the first one, other than to remove even more players from the program he inherited. But the grades game up, and the leadership clearly improved. I didn't like the on-the-field results, let alone Brandon Marshall playing in the secondary, but I understood it ... and soon learned to appreciate what GoL was trying to do (I wasn't exactly his biggest fan).

But that aside, here's my question ...

Q: How many G5 programs fire their long-term, program-defining coach who has won the conference's division half of his years, and the conference championship at least a 1/3rd of the time, do better?

Yes, I get it, FSU did. No argument. P5s do regularly. But how many G5s? Remember, you need to look at G5 programs that do extremely well in their conferences for 2/3rds of years, and win a title half of them.

In any case, I'm a closet Navy fan this year. Gee, I wonder why? It's not just because they are a military academy.

We used to have this big advantage of being located in a fertile recruiting state. We also had the advantage of being around longer than the schools to the west and to the south. Yet we have this mentality that one coach and his method is the only way to survive in the current landscape of college football. It brought us some success but now its the reason FIU and FAU are catching up and closing in on the advantages we had. We're like Homer Simpson picking up a sharp knife and attacking them with handle.

Can you just become a full time fan and leave us alone? That would be awesome.
I'm sorry ... does my lack of wanting to be a "Garbage Man" and actually give the current program leaders and student-athletes a chance to prove (as well as disprove, I'll fully offer up) through mid-2016 bother you?

Sorry ... I don't mean to be one of the vocal minority on this board, actually proving--er, "blinding believing" -- our recruits aren't as pathetic as you guys want to make them out to be, or that our defense-oriented, ball-control offense doesn't have to be no huddle to actually win conference championships in many years.

My sincerest apologies for actually respecting what the program has done in recent years, and give people a chance to fail to product more than 1 year out of the last 4, or 2 out of the last 6.

No, you just sound senile and stupid and I don't like that.

Moron, stupid, don't know about football ... keep them coming. This is what you have to do when you challenge someone, and they produce info you don't like.

Good God ... UCFBS is the biggest moron and total dumbsh-- at UCF. He actually defends the coaching staff and the recent recruiting classes. He's an idiot, without talent ... just like all of them we should have rid ourselves of too!

But we cannot! Go away UCFBS! Go away! You are just too stupid to listen to.

So ... according to you ...

USF shouldn't have had to rely on hardship waivers under Beaker, and Skip Holtz should have immediately dominated when USF was alone in the Big East? Especially since they got rid of their HC, and he brought a lot of name brand to Tampa, right?

Excuse me as I'm a realist, one who lives on statistics. ;)

South Florida is 1-2. UCF is 0-3. I think they're making a comeback.

Not if your equivalents in their fanbase have any say.
They will prolong the mess they created as long as they can.

Kinda reminds me of what I said in 2008 when some of you wanted us to be more like USF. ;)

There's only so much a fanbase can do to support the program before they realize the program doesnt care for your support anymore.

Everyone knows you're not really a dude in Alabama but GOL's wife typing in the living room on a laptop.

Check this under "another answer I didn't read because I don't care about what you have to say"

Expecting another answer in 3... 2... 1...

It's UCF football, Holman is coming back, and it's our first conference game that also could result in a win.

Doesn't sound awful to me. I waited all year for college football.
