This is the Iowa State AD. If you listen in about 5 minutes he basically says that the new additions would likely not win games in the B12 and would not add anything to the B12. This, coming from the Iowa State AD... really? Iowa State? Any of the additions would almost instantly surpass the value of Iowa State to the B12 conference.

This is the old school arrogance that I have discussed many times. The lack of business savvy this guy shows would absolutely flop anywhere outside the state run association. Does he really think anyone believes this line of BS?

the Whitley article mentioned how UCF's future as a University dwarfs Iowa State yet they are 'in the club'

The arrogance from schools like that is what really pisses me off the most about being on the outside

If the B12 added schools from the AAC, Iowa State would still be a bottom dweller. 10-15 years from now when we most likely have "super" conferences Iowa State will definitely be thrown on to the scrap heap.

The reality of it is if UCF was announced into a P5 Conference And Scott Frost stayed And was successful, we all know we would work our way up and likely get top 25 ranking more frequently.

The P5 (BCS) moniker is everything in terms of perception and money. What is in American about Division 1 college football is how elitist it is. We all know it. It seems to me UCF , perhaps more than most football programs climbed a ladder over the past 30 years . We played in legitimate 16 team play offs in D2 And 1-AA .

Division 1 needs to go to at a minimum 8 teams and ideally 16 with all conference champs getting automatic entrance . Let the champion truly be crowned be it from the Big 10 or if a Sunbelt team got hot, from them. That would the American way to settle it and it would be less elitist .

It would have been fun to be a fly on the wall watching the Iowa State AD listening to objective evidence showing that they are pretty much irrelevant both now and even more so in the future. I am sure he tuned out during the presentation.
