This is a talent issue... Yes, coaching (especially play-calling) is also a major problem, but this team just doesn't have a lot of talent. Yes, we've been hit by injuries, but we just aren't getting the type of impact players that we've had in the past... Sorry, but extending a coach to 2020 doesn't really do a much to instill confidence in an 18 year old kid when that coach is 69 and obviously going to retire in the next four years. Schools are clearly using it against us and that's not going to change any time soon. GOL got us to a point where UCF should have been able to reload, not rebuild every year after winning a BCS bowl... The cold, hard fact is that we're in year one of what will most likely be an extended rebuild and it's happening at the absolute worst time...
The fact that GOL is doubling as AD and putting in an hour or two a week is just icing on the cake. Yes, I absolutely want him to rectify the football program, but not at the expense of the overall athletic department. He's in over his head and something needed to be change.
