I think Khalil Lewis going to Cincinatti was a surprise flip. Obviously not from us (verbally comitted to WVU), but indirectly, from us as it was broadly suspected if he flipped it'd be to head to Orlando. Otherwise, a class in which we won more battles than we lost and took in some talented players; though it's not the optimal size of class we need to develop greater depth. Nice class. No surprise flips away from UCF and a couple of nice toss ups that chose UCF over Arkansas and Louisville. Our defensive backfield should be pretty good in a couple of years. We have some solid talent at DB and WR to replace the seniors leaving, but they are all really young.
Disagree. Check out or WR depth. If we don't get one or two of these receivers to contribute we are in trouble.Originally posted by SCKnight:
It is funny that this class is coming and going without much fanfare, but is a solid class. What I see is that we are getting depth at every position we are looking for. None of these guys are so desperately needed that they are automatically expected to see playing time. There was a time when we needed a 3 star player to fill a hole as a true freshman. Not so much anymore. If these players are able to compete and get on the field that means that they are something special.
I would have liked to see 20, but not at the expense of quality. I am cautiously optimistic (a trait of long time UCF fans)

I'd heard Cody Banks was going to walk-on as a blue-shirt.Originally posted by UCFKnight85:
Apparently GOL is still hoping to get Mike Rodgers in and on scholarship + Demitre Brim (VT transfer).
That's 19.
And then Cody Banks who is apprently going to sign later (for whatever reason).
That's 20.
Yep, it worked out with Stanbeck who, had O'Leary not had a scholly available at the last minute, wouldn't be here.Originally posted by goodknightfl:
I actually like having a couple of spots left. GOL has been good at finding a hidden gem here n there from the leftovers of sign day. Class is small, but quality is big. Next year we should have all 25 to work with.
Still won't sign 25.Originally posted by goodknightfl:

Even freaking Penn St. signed a full class THIS year. That's insane to think of. Our sanctions are still cutting while PSU has already moved on from Sanduskygate. #G5problemzOriginally posted by firm_bizzle:

A higher rivals average recruit rating than 17 P5 schools. Wonder what a P5 tag would do to this program.
Its gonna be difficult to find an excuse if we play one of these 17 P5 schools in the next year or two and lose.Originally posted by hemightbejeremy:

I was about to make fun of your comment, but screw it: I will take GA players all day. I love GOL's Georgia recruiting. If you turned Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana into one state, it would be better or equal to Florida in recruiting. I doubt those states could throw together the 20,000,000 residents we claim here in the Sun Shine State. If we can properly pick, and poach, in those states, I'll be as happy as an alligator with a toothbrush them up on our foosball team!Originally posted by KnightMatt8:
I can remember a time when nearly every player in every UCF football signing class was from Florida. Oh, sure, there were a few thrown in from other states on occasion. But these classes O'Leary has signed show that we can recruit out-of-state much better now than ever before. Out of the 17 signees, only 4 are from Florida! To me, that's an amazing change from what it was like when I first started following UCF.
