UCF can go to hell.

Those are not my words, but they're pretty close. They are the words of Tampa, Florida, attorney Steve Yerrid moments after he found out the University of Central Florida is building a statue of former football coach George O'Leary on campus.

"They're going to erect a statue for George O'Leary?" Yerrid said, incredulous. "It makes me, if not physically nauseous, but emotionally nauseous."

Sounds good. Lawyers have been making all of us physically and emotionally nauseous for years. Now we are even.

HammberB08: He's certainly been consistent in his thoughts about GOL. TT

I seriously hope Knight_Light and NASAKNIGHT are happy with themselves. The national media has long forgotten about EP and now the story is front and center again just while we are working on a Big 12 invite. You two seriously need to get over yourselves.

The players are starting to love the game again. They sound like a family again. This is perfectly timed. Player's need to know their place. Make them run past a yelling pointing GOL on the way into the stadium, just to remind them they are just numbers, even if they have names on their jerseys.

"Since 2000, 32 NCAA football players have died. Twenty-six of those have been of the non-traumatic nature (largely offseason practices). Nationally, 2016 has already reached the average for NCAA football deaths per year -- two. It's only August."

How come I only see Dodd write about UCF's? Does he have Yerrid on speed dial?

This is exactly how I feel. He's finally gone and we have a fresh (Frost) start and huggers bring this crap back up.

Wow, you whiners are pathetic. If a statue has any effect on our players, then we might as well not watch this years as the babies on field will run in terror when they see the opponents, a real live person. You whiners need to get over yourselves. By the way, if a statue is going to make the Big 12 run from us, then why are we even being considered, after all he's been our coach for years.

Whiners, here's the reality. The players are smart enough to realize that GOL is no longer present. They also are smart enough to realize a statue, doesn't talk. They're also smart enough to realize that what they're playing now, and who they are coached by now, are nothing like the past. I think they're adult enough to realize the difference between the past and the present. Also, again, the idea that the Big 12 gives a damn about a statue is simply stupid. If they actually say they do, then you can be sure that we weren't considered seriously anyway and this is just a scape goat "reason".

I do agree that the timing is bad and should have been pushed back later, after any announcement and definitely not during the season.

But, at least it gave you whiners something to whine about. The news recently has been way to positive and the energy Frost brings is way to electric. You whiners must have been suicidal.

The statue doesn't matter. How many people think about the Knight on the horse statue? None

Timing probably should have been next year though.
