I’ve always enjoyed hosting a party. For me, it brings together all the things that make life sweet. The opportunity to have company over, make new recipes, and drink some cold snacks with your friends and family has always been bliss for me. This past weekend we celebrated my niece’s first birthday and we went all out. Ever since I was a small child, my mother has insisted on some sort of themed party. “Strawberries” were in vogue this year. Pink everything, plump mylar balloons, rose-scented candles, and some beautiful flower arrangements. My birthday falls in late November, so my theme was always either Thanksgiving or “Your friends can’t come to your party because they’re traveling with their families for Thanksgiving.” There have been a few serendipitous times when my birthday fell on the War On I-4 for Black Friday. Happened in 2013 and 2019. We won both games; obviously.

Is this the first time a QB has started for a team against UCF and then started a game for UCF? DG later this year will be the opposite scenario. Going to be more common these days with transfer rules I'm assuming.

This makes for a great opportunity for UCF to blow out the whole "Hometown Hero" theme. A local kid is starting at quarterback for the next three or four weeks. Plaster that crap on billboards all around town before the wily veteran returns to right the ship. Should be a recruiting boon at the least.

This situation does beg the question, though. Is the 2024 starter on campus or does Gus dip into the portal for one the top 2023 transfer quarterbacks? I am certain some other big-time quarterbacks will hit the portal, itching to play for Gus. It will e interesting.

Fir now, the ball is in Timmy's court.

I’m all in on supporting Timmy but I don’t think we win or lose the game based upon his expected caliber of play. As long as the rest of the team shows up and plays to their ability we should be fine.

I think it will be a prove it type (half) season for Timmy. I also think it will be longer than 3-4 weeks, so he’ll have ample opportunity to prove it. He’s basically a Junior (3rd year player but RS Soph) so he either has it or doesn’t. I think he’ll be a more than competent qb with our OL, WRs and RBs AND his skill set. Skill all over the Offensive side of the ball, so if he doesn’t have it during the time JRP is out then he doesn’t have it. I think he does, even if it’s a year too soon. We’ll see if we have a qb for the next 2-3 years. I so badly want to beat UF next year so any experience TMc can get the better, b/c I think he could be the qb of the next 2-3 for us.

History says you are incorrect......few want to play in this system, I don't like it either but true nonetheless.

After watching Q, I am not sure JRP will play again this season. I didn't realize he was actually a good quarterback.

the Caesars Big 12 odds for UCF improved … UCF at 4th now behind Texas, Oklahoma, & Kansas State

I think it would be great to have a good QB for 3 years in the Big 12 in the very near future to get us settled in this conference with high respectability and a good shot at getting into the playoffs.
