It’s not that strange. Almost 50% of influenza infections are asymptomatic and there is asymptomatic transmission of influenza albeit at a lower rate. We just don’t do massive testing efforts for influenza and we don’t broadcast the numbers in really scary ways so we don’t worry about it.
