UCF could be getting in the mix for one of the nation's top junior college players.

Jordan Bonner, a 6-foot-6, 230-pound defensive end/outside linebacker from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, tells Rivals.com a visit to Orlando could happen in January. Bonner made the remarks this past weekend to Husker Online, the network's Nebraska site.

Bonner's head coach at NEO was Ryan Held, who recently accepted a position on Scott Frost's new UCF staff. Held is recruiting junior colleges this week. The previous UCF staff was recruiting him as well.

Bonner is not a mid-year transfer, so he has time to make a decision. He visited Tennessee the weekend of Nov. 27 and is scheduled to see Kentucky this coming weekend. South Alabama also received an early visit. So he would have two visits remaining to schedule for January.

"I have a few that I've been talking to," Bonner said. "It's not set in stone yet, but I'm supposed to be taking one to Nebraska sometime in January. And then maybe to UCF. I'm looking at Louisville too because it's also a nice place and it's closer to home, just like Kentucky.

"I think I'm getting looked at by Virginia Tech and that's a nice place too. I'm definitely going to use up all of my visits and I have three more visits and time until February. So, I mean, I've got options."

Bonner does seem to have a preference in regards to the position he plays.

"Will I have my hand down? Will I be an outside 'backer or a d-end? I think I would rather be an outside 'backer because it will show my athleticism and what I can do. I mean, I love getting after the quarterback, so I wouldn't mind putting my hand down and just getting to the quarterback and getting after it. But I would also like to be able to play off the line and make impact plays bigger than that."

He has three years of eligibility remaining.
