Here he is, threatening hilariously to sue the Daily Caller if they don't stop reporting on him with things like facts and witness testimony.

“Let me be clear. If you and your colleagues do not stop with the hit pieces that are full of lies and defamatory statements, I will have no choice but to sue each of you and your publication for defamation,” Avenatti wrote in an email to TheDCNF.

“During that process, we will expose your publication for what it truly is. We will also recover significant damages against each of you that participated personally. So if I were you, I would tell Mr. Trump to find someone else to fabricate things about me.”

Michael Avenatti, the lawyer for Stormy Daniels, has yet to correct false claims he made last week about two men who happen to share the same name as President Donald Trump’s attorney, Michael Cohen.

In a seven-page dossier released May 8, Avenatti listed details of “possible fraudulent and illegal” payments to two Michael Cohens who are not the Trump attorney. One of the men lives in Israel; the other lives in Canada. The dossier included other legitimate payments made to the actual Trump attorney, who lives in New York City.

Avenatti’s Twitter feed still includes a link to his dossier. It includes no corrections about the payments.



The Canadian Michael Cohen sent an email to Avenatti asking him to publicly correct the “scurrilous rumors” about his payment, which he says was for consulting work he did for a company called Actuarial Partners.

“I would greatly appreciate it if you were to correct this error forthwith and make it known publicly that there is no connection between myself and Actuarial Partners and your action against the New York attorney with whom I share a name,” Cohen, who lives in Ottawa, said in an email to Avenatti.

“You are surely aware of the fact that this is an extremely common name and would request that you take care before involving innocent parries [sic] in this sordid affair,” Cohen continued, asking Avenatti to acknowledge receipt of his request.

But reached Monday, Cohen told The Daily Caller News Foundation he has heard “nothing at all” from Avenatti.


Avenatti has not addressed the errors in TV appearances he has made since releasing his report.

The lawyer did not respond to an emailed request for comment on the matter. Earlier on Monday, he threatened to sue two DCNF reporters who published an article about him on Sunday. Avenatti attempted to issue the threat “off the record” but did not secure the agreement of DCNF reporter Peter Hasson.

You do understand that it's common in many foreign countries? Yes, 'bribing' -- payment for access -- is not illegal in many aspects, and that's even spelled out by the State Department. There are rules that the US, EU, etc... use and it can apply to.

This is what gets me about the US media sheepism. Not everything a lawyer does is unethical, and it's a hard case to make over illegal. He is not just Trump's lawyer. But when we talk about Hillary Clinton and her lawyers doing the same thing, it's not a 'conflict of interest' or 'unethical.'

Total double-standard.

This is why every time the Democratic leaders in Congress start bringing this crap up, the Republicans bark back about appointing a special council on the Clintons to get them to back down.

Frankly, I want 1 standard, and it to be enforced. But the bi-partisan swamp has no interest in doing so. This is about duping the masses to think something is changing ... when it's not.
