After 41 relief appearances over the past two years, sophomore right-handed pitcher Trent Thompson is set to make his first start at UCF. The Tampa, Fla., native has registered saves against Florida and Siena earlier this year.
The Dolphins (11-11) are starting righty Justin Russell, who is 2-2 with a 5.28 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 30.2 inning of work. Jacksonville is led by Angelo Amendolare with a .375 average and 20 RBI. The team's primary run producer has been Connor Marabell with 24 RBI.
