I don't think he was a walk on. He was a 3 star recruit in 2014 on the recruiting page. Nevertheless, I think there's a lot of young guys like Smith, Akins (not young, but a lot of eligibility left), Payton, Wilson, Cam Stewart, and Jordan Franks who will return and really improve under a competent coaching staff.
