It was a double reverse, which lessened the pass rush.
But you're right in one sense, receiver doesn't seem to be Payton's position. Again zero receptions.
May be moved to "left out" next year if he stays.

I had hoped D'erren could have been another weapon for us this year. It seems that somewhere along the way he got in the doghouse for some reason. I can't imagine it was that he lacked the talent to get on the field.

Seems to me that we are going to lose 1-2 receivers a year. There is just too much talent and not enough playing time to go around. Especially with Killlins and Hamilton coming out of the backfield. Hopefully, we will run more plays next year.

It's ashame that these players will not be like Oldham and wait until they are juniors and seniors to play. However, I don't think Payton should transfer as he won't see any more PT at Florida and they haven't had a good offense in years. We have more WRs in the NFL

Next year, we will have Smith, Snelson, Stewart and Payton. Payton should get plenty of chances at #3 or #4 WR in this offense.

No need to transfer.

I do think that it would be wise to recruit a little less at WR this year (maybe 1-2), and more in some other areas. We need to start getting some of our present WRs playing time and touches or we may lose 1-2 more and just have this undesirable revolving door. We need to go heavy on O-line, D-line, LBs, RBs and to a lesser extent DBs. Also, 1-3 QBs of course.

Pretty sure we will have at least 2 more RBs come here next year. Just not enough PT to not redshirt more than 1 or 2 new RBs. Definitely Need both lines and defense in general. Besides line and QB offense is good.

Yes, we can hold off on WR recruiting now and can even skip next year with them. With Tristan, Tre'Quan,Cam, Manny, Snelson, Bargnare, and 2016 reshirt Mayfield, plus others as backups, we will be good at WR for several years.
