This is why we will never, ever be able to cut spending ever again regardless of who is in power. Just read the quotes in this article. We're talking about $4.3B in a budget that is nearly $4T, and we've got people asserting that cutting this amount of money will lead to suffering and death around the world. Doom and gloom! People will die!

There is no spending cut small enough that would not generate pontification from some interest group that people will be dying in the streets if you make that cut.
