Tryston Payton tweeted

Freshman mistake. We were way better than Florida the last few years. I'm sure the players are even more pissed than us.

That he should have been a gator. http://collegespun.com/national/ucf...weets-fans-saying-he-should-have-been-a-gator

It's apparent the coaches have lost the team.

First of all, it's social media...which does nothing but get kids in trouble for saying something without context, or without thinking through something before hitting "send". I love how they got "I made the wrong decision and should have been a gator" out of tweet response that says "Where did I go wrong (emoticon)". All that is, is a glob of bad English and no context. He could have been light-heartedly joking for all we know. I know if I was coach and this became public, though, he'd be in my office the next morning explaining it and if there was any regret I'd be sure to let him know the door is open for him to quit any time he'd like to while facing adversity. Like the Gators haven't had a sub-par record for 4 of the last 5 seasons?

You lost me at this but not surprised that you have to show GOL loyalty against misinterpreted comments a student athlete tweeted.
The problem with your UF is irrelevant response for the last couple of years is that we havent necessarily secured 2nd best Florida team the last couple of years either. We always struggled against P5 teams so who is to say we wouldve beaten them with our best squad ever back then.
Even you've gone on record admitting our limitations. Now you have the audacity coming from the fan of a "limited program" to say they are irrelevant and by saying that youre implying compared to us?

Tristan posted "where did I go wrong" without any context as to what he was describing. Then he retweeted a tweet written by a Gator fan telling Tristan that he should of been a gator. It was a retweet. Pull yourselves together.

Define sub-par because since Muschamp became coach and until last weekend, they're 32-21 with a 2-1 bowl record. That's a 60% winning percentage, yet the administration decided to look elsewhere because a winning record is not enough for them.

In the SEC, a winning record and a bowl win against an AAC team (E. Carolina) isn't enough to keep your program successful.

How ironic considering thats the same ECU program responsible for five straight wins over the ACC. Yet our "more successful" than Florida program couldnt even finish off a 7-5 NC State team in a bowl that we're usually relegated to. Yeah i doubt we can actually do to Florida what Georgia Southern did to them.

Walker was a fun player to watch on the field. Glad he's staying plugged into the program and helping out some young receivers with advice from his perspective. Hope the kids like Payton take the advice and put in the work to become impact players.
