Montgomery recalls loss to UCF: Before Memphis defeated Ole Miss last month, UCF's 52-42 win against Baylor in the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 1, 2014, was widely considered the American Athletic Conference's most impressive victory. Calling plays for the Bears was Philip Montgomery, whose Tulsa team hosts the Knights on Saturday.
"It was one of those perfect-storm type of deals," Montgomery said. "They had a lot of momentum throughout the game. They did a great job.
"Their quarterback (Blake Bortles) played extremely well. Their receiver (Rannell Hall) played extremely well. Then defensively, they kept battling all the way through. We hit a couple things here and there and they kept lining back up and coming again."
