Tubby Smith?

Not sure that's a good choice for Memphis. Seems like they could have picked someone better (better as in more recent success). They've got a good track record even though Pastner was mediocre at best. Tubby was great at Kentucky but for the last 10 yrs he hasn't done squat. If he was that good he would have had a couple good seasons mixed in, even with the two prograns being Minnesota and Texas Tech, who don't have any kind of recent program success for as long as I can remember. 64-98 in conference play with both those teams.

Tubby will be fine, Probably wont coach much more than 5 years anyways.

Tubby took both those programs to the tourney before leaving them. It isn't easy to rebuild in Minnesota and Texas Tech. He will have an easier time getting the players he wants at Memphis. Tubby is a winner
