Turnovers

Jeez, a backcourt violation, that's some stuff you only see on 2k...this team has issues when Sykes isn't out there running the show.

And now in the 2nd they have even more issues with Sykes on the floor turning it over. This team has very few playmakers, unfortunately. Hopefully they can grow from this.

It was a rough game that's for sure. Some of the passes made me cringe.

Nasty Noles

I was ragging on FSU #14 for his continual flops at the game. He virtually never got a call because it was so bad, often way, way too late, and I know that 2nd time he looked back at me 3 times when I was laughing at him. I saw some pushing and shouving, but didn't know what to make of it.

Just got home, and while we beat ourselves, #5 and #32 were in early foul trouble over both nastiness and acting from Seminoles. After 8 minutes of the first quarter, I had to turn it off. FSU #10 was just an a-hole, along with two others. They were completely shouving and self-tangling themselves, then even throwing our guys down, but then acting like they were innocent -- especially #32's first foul. I remember seeing some of it in-person, but on TV, it was far worse than I thought. Now it explains why the Refs tried to get ahold of the problem early in the 2nd half.

In any case, we lost because of turnovers and execution issues. But #5 and #32 getting in early foul trouble over total BS non-sense certainly kept their much needed minutes down.

That was a rough game to watch. A couple things I noticed:

1. Just sloppy play all around, from the opening tip til the end of the game. Way too many turnovers.
2. Brilliant call by Donnie to switch to the zone near the end of the first half to keep us in the game.
3. FSU really showcased their size in the 2nd half to take control.
4. Despite the size disadvantage, I thought we did pretty well on the boards in the 1st half.
5. Free throw shooting was atrocious. With just an average FT shooting night, we are right in that game despite everything else.

For a Donnie Jones team the free throw shooting was average.
