It’s weird that there are actually people that think Trump is the source of all our country’s ills. Political corruption, divisive rhetoric, scapegoating and media dishonesty all predate and go way deeper than Trump. Trump leaving does not mean the government will cease to be government.

In fact, it looks as though our government will be getting more powerful and even more governmenty. We will get a Ministry of Science and one of “Truth and Reconciliation.” If that doesn’t make you uncomfortable, you have too much faith in government.

Time will tell. I for one am not optimistic, but hope they prove me wrong. For me the good thing is I only plan on working 6 to 18 more months, so taxes won't be an issue. I expect higher taxes, much higher fuel prices, less free speech, and a recession. I hope i am proved wrong. That being said Dementia Daddy will be my president, and I pray what he does , or his handlers do, works out as good for the country.

Digs aside, I appreciate what goodknightfl posted here. One of the things that I found galling 12 years ago was the right-wing "we want Obama to fail" attitude. When our President fails, we all fail.

It would be nice if everyone could get behind our new President. Obviously, we won't all agree on policy, but we should all agree that our country REALLY needs a sense of unity moving forward right now.
