Remember this?
The initial plan was to have construction beginning in the summer of 2013 which would have had it ready by the 2014 season. The financing fell through, and since then the project has been stalled. No public push for donations, etc. The leadership center did get the preferential treatment, but in its defense that's the sort of project folks with big money will open up their pocketbooks for. A baseball stadium, at least with the people friendly to donating six/seven figures to UCF, is apparently not something they're interested in.
Anyway, I expect the stadium issue to be a hot topic this spring. If UCF continues on this road, hosting a regional becomes a real possibility and it will further spotlight the lack of a proper facility.
