Two questions:
1. Would it be beneficial to Disney if UCF was in a Power 5 conference?
Personally I think it would. Disney is not short on money but they are also not shy about wanting more. I think UCF in a Power conference means more exposure for the city of Orlando, more opportunities for them to run ads about it and more families traveling here for games etc. I also think it might attract more out of state students, which in turn would lead to more families visiting.
2. Do they have the power to make that happen.
I have no idea. I know they own ESPN but who knows how much influence they truly have or intentionally put on ESPN. At the very least you'd think someone higher up would want them to push a favorable narrative for the school. We supply them with all of their employees after all.
