2016 after 2 games: 476 yards, 4 rushing TDs
2015 in 12 games: 975 yards (last in FBS), 4 rushing TDs
Surprise: UCF's QB rating is 9 pts. above last season and yard/attempt is higher, too. That's how bad we were last year, I guess.
Also, when was the last time UCF did not throw a pick in its first 2 games?

goodness Brent Key was awful

UCF collected 472 yards against South Carolina State and Michigan, which is almost half of the 975 yards the team earned during the entire 2015 season. If the Knights rush for just 16 yards against Maryland Saturday, they will reach half of last season’s rushing total with nine games remaining in the regular season.

Overall, UCF gained 540 rushing yards, with most of its lost yardage coming on sacks.

And last year we faced one of the easiest schedules in FBS. So far this year year it's been one of the best FCS defenses (I know tallest midget, but they're actually pretty good) and #6 Michigan. Key was one of the worst offensive coordinators in NCAA history. Just back of the napkin estimate here, but does that mean we're currently averaging almost 3x the rushing yards per game vs last year?

And lest someone say it's because we're running most every play, last year's team was also last in the nation in yds/carry at 2.7 (slightly worse than the 2.9 Michigan average against us -- dig). Now we're at 4.8 despite all those sacks.

I'm waiting for AAC games to see how we're doing. I think it's going to be pretty damn good. Add 1 more who thanks God Key was bad last year. Even if he was good, I doubt there'd be half as much excitement around the team.
