We have speculated that we might be higher ranked in attendance if you took into consideration that P5 Teams play P5 Schools. What would happen if we only took into account when the visiting team was a non-P5 Team.
So I decided to write a little program to pull all the attendance numbers from last year game by game...
A couple things to consider...

- UCF ranks 51st when visiting team is a G5 School vs 56th overall. Unfortunately 5 teams that are ranked ahead of UCF in the overall standings only played P5 Teams. so either way, its pretty consistent 56th Ranking...
- UCF ranks 3rd in non-P5 either way behind BYU and East Carolina. (both having huge disadvantages of their own)
A couple things to consider...
- Since I used ESPN as a source for my scraping program, the data is not perfect. There were 32 games that did not report attendance.
- Attendance numbers are not always butts in seats.
- People by season tickets for the schedule, so a weaker match up that you have already purchased as a season ticket holder might keep you going to the games
- Generally P5 plays G5 early in the season when fans are starved to see their teams play "anyone"
