Check out Question 19:

Q19 Out of the seven Florida colleges with Division 1 football teams—University of Central Florida, the University of Florida, Florida Atlantic University, Florida International University, Florida State University, the University of Miami, and the University of South Florida— which is your favorite?
Central Florida 12% ................................................
Florida 29% .............................................................
Florida Atlantic 1% ................................................
Florida International 3% ........................................
Florida State 19% ...................................................
Miami 10% ..............................................................
South Florida 5% ..................................................
Not sure 21%

This billboard gets more comically inaccurate by the year.

We're 2 points ahead of Miami, USF is 2 points above FIU. We're 7 points behind FSU, USF is 7 points behind us. Good news is they're dominating FAU.

I'm sure UCF has more casual fans in the state who aren't alumni than USF does simply due to the Fiesta Bowl and conference championships in recent memory. That #2 ranking that boosted USF a decade ago has worn off.

To add meat to Ace's comment... Even more impressive is how UCF has gained on the younger crowd... just 2% behind FSU. It's the old farts following UF and FSU.

Favorite College Team - Base Age - 18 to 45 - 46 to 65 - Older than 65
Central Florida - 12% - 15% - 14% - 6%
Florida - 29% - 35% - 23% - 30%
Florida Atlantic - 1% - 0% - 1% - 3%
Florida International - 3% - 4% - 3% - 1%
Florida State - 19% - 17% - 19% - 21%
Miami - 10% - 14% - 8% - 9%
South Florida - 5% - 5% - 6% - 5%
Not sure - 21% - 11% - 25% - 26%

Great catch on those details EngAlum98. I was too lazy to read the article.

These numbers demonstrate the stupidity of those who refuse to acknowledge that UCF is rapidly growing it's fan base.

The growth/strength of UCF's younger fan base is just another reason why UCF's current TV Partners and potentially their future TV partners should be pleased about UCF's potential in the future.

Again, this poll was taken AFTER UCF's worst season of all-time....imagine what it might be in another few years?

Yes, I'm sure we've gained tons of support over the years for wining crappy CUSAAC. I'll give you the FB maybe giving us some casuals, but no one cares about CUSAAC.

Not trying to be a downer, but it is also possible that our numbers could actually slip in the next couple of years. I think a 4 win season this coming year is a strong possibility. If the injury bug hits us again, it could actually be worse- hypothetically speaking. In 2017 I expect the team to be much improved over the 2015 version and the 2016 model, but our schedule that season is going to be a bit rough. We drop Michigan in the OOC slate but pick up Texas and Georgia Tech if I'm not mistaken while also still playing Maryland (I believe on the road). We drop Tulsa, Tulane and Houston from the West and pick up Navy, Memphis and what should be a drastically improved SMU team. I'm not saying it will be doom and gloom around here, but we might actually be a pretty good football team in Frost's 2nd year and the record might not show it. That season we will have only one true recruiting class under Frost and the rest will be what he was able to patch together this season and the holdover's from the GOL era- many players who don't really fit the Frost system (although many of them might leave when they see that they aren't really going to get much PT in the new systems.) I don't think it is out of the realm of possibilities for us to go 4-8 each of the next two seasons. I hope that isn't what happens, but I am not expecting miracles either. Many of the GOL haters pointed out that he didn't bring in much talent the past few years. If they are correct, then we will be competing with mostly freshmen and sophomores the next two seasons, hardly a recipe for 8-9 win seasons.

The new style of football at UCF is going to catch on quickly with all football fans.

As a fan of UM back in the day I can say their games have not been not very exciting for a long.
UF was more exciting with Urban Meyers.
FS seems to be the only one really using the FL talent these days but they are not flashy.
USF was most exciting when the Jim was there, their games are snorers...

no I think it's bc of the difference in culture at both schools. USF is more similar to FIU still being a commuter drive through get what you need and move on. UCF Students and recent alumni have had more school pride even before the Fiesta Bowl win, you can go anywhere in the State and see UCF gear.

Yet another reading comprehension fail on the part of MasterKnight.

This was a STATEWIDE poll...not a poll of people just in the Orlando market.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say @MasterKnight was saying "in addition to being #3 in the state, i also heard UCF is most popular team in orlando market."

No, he is being an ignoramus by referencing a statement I made in another thread and still can't seem to grasp it. FCC put out a map showing tv ratings around the country by top 3 teams in each county. The Orlando and surrounding market has UCF #1, UF #2, and FSU #3 in ratings. My argument was that based on these ratings, UCF vs UF would garner better ratings in the Orlando market than would UF vs FSU. But somehow, he can't grasp that logic.

That commuter school is spanking your golden butts black in scientific research, endowment, and overall academic rankings. And those numbers will change once we win the conference and win the NY6 bowl this year.

What style is that...they style that goes 0-12 and loses to Furman?

I know one game that was definitely a snorer. It was played on Thanksgiving.

Bullsbucsfan426 thank you for bringing facts to this sea of delusion. Don't forget ranking 10th in the nation for number of patents issued. The "commuter drive through get what you want" comment is especially rich coming from a school with a 31:1 faculty-student ratio, one of the highest in the US.

Wow. The cows are still around? Bringing up academics (whose advantages are higher only because of the state) because there athletics have gone to crap (oh wait, they never were good). Then predicting going to a NY6 bowl after 1 bowl appearance (which they lost to WKU) in the past 5 years. And they call us delusional?

BTW, UCF has a high faculty-student ration because we are one of the leaders in online studies which most of the universities in the country are moving to.

Gotta love it when Bulls fans resort to academic smack talk. Sorta like Rocky the Bull winning the mascot challenge while UCF was waxing the B12 champs in a BCS Bowl! [roll][jumpingsmile]

You fools started "commuter school" smack talk and for that you were slapped down as you deserve.

USF alumni win at life. Your "big 12 waxing UCF players" will be working the Publix lines for us the next 20 years while we're buying steak and lobster.

As for football-fact of the matter is that you went 0-12. And you'll have 4 wins at most next year, and one of them certainly won't be in Tampa.

UCF...Been There...Done That...FOUR Times...TWICE in the AAC!

And those numbers will change once we...and win the NY6 bowl this year.

UCF...Been There...Done That Too!

Come back when your football team ACTUALLY accomplishes what UCF has already done!
