UCF football hires Mike Sims-Walker as defensive quality control specialist

Gotta start somewhere, Hope he learns a lot while he's here and then take on a head coaching gig somewhere and make the UCF nation proud!

Well...believe most don't go from Graduate Asst to Head Coach...but yes, I hope Mike has a great time at UCF and lands a full time asst coaching gig soon.

New UCF Corner Backs Coach, Travis Fisher, UCF Alum and 9 year NFL Player, here was his career path to UCF

9 years in the NFL
2013: UCF Grad Asst Defensive Quality
2014: Full time Asst CB Coach at Southeast Missouri State
2015: Full time Asst CB Coach at UCF

Its not a Grad assistant position. So he doesn't have to be in school. Quality control can't recruit or directly coach athletes. He will probably do a lot film breakdown, position grading, and help with game prep.

Hopefully this works out and allows Mike to get another degree and/or complete his undergrad if he has not already done so. It can also open doors for him to pursue coaching if that is something that he wants to do. He can really help us recruit C. Florida better - which I think we desperately need.

Welcome back!
Its a football ops position...so I believe he has to have already earned his UCF Undergrad Diploma.
