What about a guy like Scott Farmer from Louisianna Lafayette? The Ragin Cajuns have fielded very respectable teams in the Sun Belt. Last year 5 teams (including men's football) won their conference title. He has been involved with programs ( Georgia Southern and Troy) that have competed and beat P5 teams in David and Goliath like match ups. His program has grown in nearly every single measurable by leaps and bounds in his tenure.
** I ran into his father in law in Jacksonville while visiting my father for Father's Day. His father and mother in law want them back to the central Florida area bc of grandkids etc, he is also from Ormand Beach. (More importantly so does their daughter his wife!) We all know happy wife happy wife.
His resume Bio is in the link below but here are some highlights:
• has worked to more than double the number of football season tickets sold, from just under 4,800 in 2007 to a record 11,833 in 2013;
-instrumental in creating Ragin Cajuns Network, which annually televises events to the New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Lafayette markets. He also expanded the Ragin’ Cajuns Radio Network to include stations in the five-largest metropolitan areas in the state;
• instrumental in developing the $115 million Athletic Facilities Master Plan, which was announced in March, 2013 and included major facility improvements that will assist all 16 sports
-5 conference titles in 2013-2014 season. Including football
-APR above 960
This guy can fundraise, rally support of the community and builds facilities and programs. I for one would like to see a Hungry, up and coming AD that has a track record of success with ties to our local community. I don't think the list of candidates that fits the above descriptions is very long.
