Either those numbers include a fair amount of papering or people that own tickets aren't attending the games, because the arena looks very, very sparse when I watch the games online.

Monday's night game vs Tulsa had an announced crowd of 4,077.

Actual was probably closer to 1,500.

This needs to get better as we move into the Big 12. Players want to play in front of crowds. This will hinder recruiting high level players.
Agree.

Too many UCF Fans have never supported the program outside an occasional game...yet they want Top 25 recruiting classes.

Also, packed arenas also show NLI opportunities too...as they know that school has rabid hopp fans who would probably pay for NLI.

I went to the Houston and Oklahoma games this year. I live near Savannah so I can't get to a lot of them. Houston game had a great atmosphere. It showed me what the atmosphere could be. I think games will regularly sell out or close to it with Baylor, Kansas, etc. coming to town.

Still didn't like firing Speraw, and I don't think I ever will. Jones wasn't an upgrade, and came from Marshall (lateral).

Dawkins, on the other hand, I still like.

Jones was a terrible hire from beginning. I was excited for Dawkins and was real excited for this year. Started out good and then the wheels fell off. Excitement has turned into extreme disappointment. I’m sure people will hype up next year too but it’s hard to believe it anymore.

I’ve had 2 season tickets for decades. I went to nearly every game through the end of the Rompza-Jordan years. I still hold my tickets but my attendance has fallen off since then and now, with two boys (ages 3 and 1) and a wife that works overnights four days a week, I get to a game a year. My tickets are my “doing something” for UCF basketball. I’m hoping that I can go more as the boys get older.

Donnie Jones is the coach at Stetson. And they still suck.

Also...when you can't go to games...you can easily send those tickets digitally to others...so at least they get used and in a small way, help add more fans to cheer on our knights...as those empty seats never help sell one recruit on UCF Hoops.

Wait?! We're guilting people for still buying tickets now?! WTF?!

I understand that many of the empty seats at basketball games are season-ticket holders who don't show up. Some of the empty seats have large numbers on them. What's that all about?

Those are 3 cards....as you wave them to get a free t shirt every time UCF makes a 3.

Yes...its embarrassing that they are left on the best seats in the house that are SOLD...but those seat holders rarely show.

Thanks. I would never have guessed that. It seems to me that we should have a system that would allow season ticket holders to return tickets that they will not use. The tickets could then be resold providing more income to the program.

Last night's Cinci crowd of 5,102 pushed UCF's season average to just under 5,000 at 4,977.

For 9 conf games, UCF averaged 5,187 fans per AAC game.

After years of giving my basketball tickets to others, since I've lived in another state the past 5 years and only make 3-4 home games, I gave them up last season. I probably should have held on to them, especially going into the Big XII, but at the same time ... they were empty half the time.

I hope the new owners are making good use of them.

When they originally assigned seat blocks, that side was reserved for corporate donors. When we selected our seats in the new Arena, we all thought it was stupid to have the corporate empty seats facing the cameras. I don’t knowwho made that decision, but it remains a bad one.

The camera decks/area is at the top of the West Side Concourse looking East to the Club.

There isn't any room for cameras at Top of the club ad that is where the suites start.

Only way it could happen is if they buyout a suite and turn it into a camera stand.

They needed to have done a pre-design charette to figure this stuff out, with all stake holders. Saves problems in the future. Do you remember no water fountains when the Bounce House opened? Code violation plus stupid lack of plan review, they had to retro-fit.
