2017 Florida Vipers 16U WG Anthony Polite had a good week in Atlanta at the Under Armour Association Finals. The Vipers won the 16U championship due in large part to the defensive job that Polite, who holds a UCF offer, did on Indy Hoosiers four-star point guard Paul Scruggs by helping to force Scruggs into four turnovers and limiting him to just 14 points (on 10 shots) while Polite had 11 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and one steal of his own.
While in Atlanta covering the Under Armour event I noticed Donnie Jones and Shawn Finney observing Polite, who attends St. Andrews School (Boca) where he plays a big role on their team. A lefty, Polite has a smooth shooting stroke but his jump shot can be streaky, he has a strong frame, good athleticism, sneaky explosiveness and will get after it on defense. He also has a pretty good basketball IQ. Polite will be in Vegas with Florida Vipers this coming weekend then he'll go abroad to play for the Swiss National Team. Polite picked up a Stetson offer this weekend, FIU last weekend and Virginia Tech at the end of last month.
Polite recently took an unofficial visit to UCF with his dad. His father is Michael Polite, who played SF at Florida State in the late 1980's.
