UCF could be a landing spot for a former Miami commit.
South Dade cornerback James Wiggins tells UCFSports.com that he spoke on Wednesday with secondary coach Travis Fisher, who let him know the Knights are very much interested. An official visit could be scheduled for either late this week or this weekend.
"I'm waiting to hear back if it can be set up by Friday," Wiggins said.
UCF already has commitments from a pair of Wiggins' teammates - running back Jawon Hamilton and offensive lineman Boman Swanson.
"They've been telling me all about UCF and how much they love the school," Wiggins said. "They say the coaches are good and the environment is great."
The three-star prospect and All-Dade member had been committed to Miami since last February, but reopened his recruitment last week after it became apparent he was not a priority of the new Mark Richt-led staff.
Wiggins visited Cincinnati two weeks ago and is currently scheduled to visit Louisville beginning Friday. He says he will finalize his plans once he hears back from UCF.
