UCF will need to win four games in four days to win the AAC title. They are leaving for Fort Worth today (flying commercial).

Getting to Saturday's semifinal would be a major milestone though.

In the "modern era" of UCF MBB, which I consider to be joining C-USA in 2005-06, here's how UCF has fared in conference tournaments:

For reference, 2006-13 is C-USA, 2014 onward is AAC.

2006: 1-1
2007: 0-1
2008: 0-1
2009: 0-1
2010: 1-1
2011: 0-1
2012: 1-1
2013: Banned from tournament
2014: 1-1
2015: 0-1
2016: 0-1
2017: 1-1
2018: 1-1
2019: 0-1
2020: COVID
2021: 1-1
2022: 1-1

I was just posting records - in some years UCF had a first-round bye and other years they did not.

The "best" tourney runs in modern era history are 2011-12 and 2016-17. UCF earned a first-round bye both years and won their quarterfinal game to reach the semifinals (but lost). UCF made the NIT in both of those seasons.

Even when UCF reached the NCAA Tournament as an at-large in 2019, they went one-and-done in the conference tournament.

If UCF can win two games to reach a semifinal, that would be a major accomplishment based on historical success.

UCF has never made it to a championship game.
