UCF opens home football schedule with a trio of night games

Game at FIU on the last Saturday in Sept is also set for a 7 pm kick.

7 pm night a "night time start". 6 pm is not.

This is an amazing schedule. Saturday night games to escape the heat, sun and all day tailgating. It's great for families as well. It's basically a Saturday night out. Similar to the spring game, but these count.
I wasn't thrilled with the Michigan time, but we don't have to deal with the Florida heat and sun. Also if it gets this team on ABC or ESPN coming off an 0-12 season, I'm all for it.

Great for fans at the campus, but generally means little or no TV coverage.

I think at this point butts-in-seats is more important. I like night games better. Too hot during the day. go Knights!

That is indeed the trade off. The thing about national TV coverage, as GOL was known to say, is you either get exposure or get exposed. Right now, the program needs to rally the loyal fans it has locally who can buy the tickets and go to the games. Once the team is ready to put on a show in a year or so we can worry more about what channel we're on.

Except for us poor schmoes who live out of state and rather enjoyed seeing UCF on TV every week (I know, I know I am not a REAL fan). I agree that the team needs to focus on winning rather than exposure at this point.

Our "non-televised" home games are still going to be available on ESPN3 / ESPN App. Most people who want to watch a game will be able to.
