While practices are closed, media has access to the "pre-practice" and individual drills at the beginning which should be around 3 p.m. Yes, photography is permitted during individual drills. Once that's up, you must leave. I'll take shelter in the lobby of Wayne Densch, most likely. Then around 5:30 we can come back out for interviews.
I'm still not buying the "coordinators" excuse because these same coordinators were there in spring, and it's not like there hasn't been new defensive coordinators the past couple years. As for Brent Key, he's been here since 2005 and likely won't be changing all that much. Media and fans have done a really good job of behaving themselves in not reporting things the team doesn't want out. I still think it has more to do with the youth at WR and DB.
IMO, they easily could have opened for the first few days because hardly anything happens of note when the team must spend two days in shorts with no pads, and then the next two days in shells. The "real" practices don't really start until Day 5, which would be Sunday. But it is what it is. Yeah, it's hot as hell because I always enjoyed the opportunity.
Here are the new #'s for freshmen:
3 Mike Rogers
6 Tristan Payton
9 Bo Schneider
26 Brandon Scott
27 Taj McGowan
30 Rashard Causey
38 Nevelle Clarke
43 Aaron Cochran
53 Quintin Hampton
56 Pat Jasinski
57 Neal Nelson
58 Marcus Foster
59 Monte Taylor
72 Tyler Hudanick
82 D'erren Wilson
83 Cam Stewart
85 Cody Banks
98 Brendon Hayes
99 Titus Davis
And a brand new name: Freshman OL Jake Brown, No. 74, from La Costa Canyon HS in Encinitas, Calif. This is news to me, but if he's already on the roster that tells me he's under some form of scholarship, maybe the same deal as Cody Banks. Here's video:

I'm out the door, will update after individual drills.
