Dillon is our future and he has plenty of time ahead of him, but who wouldn't like to see KZ get another shot to show his magic? He's worked so hard in rehabilitation, and it would be so great to see his skills on display again!
No, he didn't. In a world where Dillon Gabriel is healthy Mack has 0% chance of being the starter.
Milton was supposed to have some kind of deciding doctor's appointment with his doctor in June. I'm guessing if he had gotten some good news we would've heard about it.
I did forget about Mack and that was inadvertent. He is an important cog in our machine and I meant no disrespect. He has had some memorable moments and great games. All of our players are worthy of our respect for the grind they endure to be their best. Heck, just practicing in Florida's man-eating sun is brutal! These guys are as tough as they come!
Ultimately, I agree with Danny that DG will win the job outright, and barring injury, MM will be looking towards the next horizon, while serving as a backup. He would absolutely tear up the CFL with his accuracy and mobility on those big fields.
The biggest downside (although the personalities are different) is similar to what happened at UH in 2010-11 (I live in Houston and am a UH alum too). Keenum and his backup blew out their knees in the first quarter of game one, forcing UH to insert a true Freshman (with good credentials) David Piland.
Well the kid had a real solid year, lost to one of our best teams (2010) by a score of like 41-39, showed a lot of promise. The next year they go back to Keenum, redshirt Piland,and the guy never gets over it. In 2012, begins the year as the starter but regresses and flames out.

DM is such a good athlete, I wish they would try him at another position.....he just lacks the T&A (timing and accuracy) needed to run this system.
Can’t forget about a guy capable of winning a conference championship as a backup. He is really good, and with more game experience would start at many D1 schools.
Problem with Mack is arm strength. Yes it's a problem because he's so strong his long balls often sail over WRs heads (watch the tapes). He's great red zone QB.
Problem with KZ is no one knows including himself what his durability is. It may be October before he is 100%. Serious knee injuries take 2 years to heal. His was definitely in the very serious category. Since season is 8 games he may get to play in last 4 just in case he wants to red-shirt.
Problem with DG is that he lost 3 away games. Will he improve? I think he'll do better if we play only AAC games.
What's this look like?
ECU away - no problem DG
Tulsa home - close game but DG wins at home
Memphis away - DG loses if KZ can't come in and bail out?
Tulane home - DG wins at home
Houston away - DG wins? 50/50
Florida A&M - we should play this game since it's in-state (no problem)
Temple home - DG wins
CINN home - DG wins in tight battle
USF away - DG wins / don't play KZ please in this one

Do you know the last game UCF lost with a non-freshman QB starting?
KZ was running for his life with small freshmen line his freshmen line. Arkansas State had a field day with our OL in bowl game (6-6 season). Yes KZ improved from freshmen to sophomore year but so did the line. I'm not sure nut I believe we got some Community College help at OL the next year. Would have to research. The point is apples and oranges comparing KZ freshmen year coming off of 0-12 year and DG coming off of 12-1 year I definitely saw improvement in DG during the year last year but not as convinced as some until this season about DG.
