UCF has soared in Royal's recruitment. The Alabama native is very familiar with Gus Malzahn due to the coach's tenure at Auburn. Royal recently made a trip out to Orlando, where the Golden Knights made a good impression.
"I like (Malzahn) a lot," Royal said. "I went up there for a visit and ended up getting an offer from there. They're pretty solid. I like the way that they run stuff in their program."
