UCF Transfer Portal Updates

If the offense is drastically better they will win more games. New offense for everyone except the coaches. Will take a while learning it. Rizk is smart so I think he picks it up the fastest. Portal could be option. But I’d rather not if they aren’t game changers. We’ll see.

How much can it hurt? If we have 2 bad teams on schedule like this year, there’s 2 wins. In 2 years I don’t want to hear, these are Gus guys. Let’s wait 4 years for Frost team to gel. Expediting the process. Next year is a throw away year. Gus wasn’t getting a good QB anyway.

Frost and his army of analysts are going to coach and develop these chicken eaters into gangbusters in 2025.

I am going to log an early 🔮 for UCF to make the CFP next fall behind the vaulted offensive line of LT walk-on Shaheem Hill, LG Keegan Smith C Waltclaire Flynn, RG Jabari Brooks, and RT Paul Rubelt

This. Mm and DG both started as freshmen. Rizk got some starts as a rs freshman this year. I think he takes a leap next year. Would like to try to grab a good wr and te from portal if possible to help him out. Even losing rj i feel good about the rbs we have

I believe each of the following 4 OL are ready to step in and start/contribute. We just need one more starter plus depth.
Paul Rubelt, OT, 6'9", 330
Keegan Smith, G, 6'3", 315
Walt Flynn, G/C, 6'2", 305
Jabari Brooks, G/C, 6'3", 335

Of course, LaParka Langston, OT, 6'8", 300, was just acquired as an add on to the 2025 class. But I haven't seen any of his tape yet so I can't comment on whether he seems ready or is moreso developing. But of course he comes from JUCO so he does have experience beyond HS.
I was looking at some of the offensive line for like South Dakota state the FCS champion this year and their guys are really good

I'm logging in early Gus and his HC don't last the season next year.

Nice 2 Day commitment to SC

This sport is turning into a joke
Why even commit? If you are looking for better offers, just stay silent. SMU has the oil money. I remember when they came to us for a Conference Champuonship Game, not sure if year, their fans were all blue hairs. All rich from the look of them. I didn’t see many young people for them so I hope the money train doesn’t stop when they die.

I will answer this question for those of you who have never taken athletes through the recruiting process.

Getting the very first FBS offer is the hardest thing for Athlete A in high school. Once an offer is received from a legitimate FBS program, Athlete A is identified as a FBS-caliber prospect. Other programs take notice and offers start pouring in from all over the country.

Applying the same logic to transfer portal players, once a transfer (lots are in the portal) commits to a legitimate FBS program, other programs take notice and offers start pouring in.

The real question is "Why would Chasen spurn USC for SMU?"

No. 1, USC is very strong at defensive back. California produces some of the best skill guys (quarterbacks, wide receivers, and defensive backs in particular) in America. SMU needs skilled defensive backs, and Gus probably gave Rhett a glowing recommendation on Chasen, who can beca Day 1 starter at SMU or a depth piece at USC.

No. 2, USC has a coach on the hot seat. Rhett, ppl meanwhile, can dominate the ACC with Texas HS football talent for the next 10 years.

No. 3, USC pays a fraction of fraction of what SMU pays for like talent.

the worry is the status of the OLine but I do think Frost can get by with less talent on offensive skill positions ‘AAC level’ and just show that he runs a QB and WR friendly offensive scheme then hopefully the next recruiting cycle the talent level jumps.

UCF needs a transfer QB bc the depth chart is too thin but Rizk being his guy is the better scenario for the locker room.

I’m not saying anything other than don’t publicly committ. Announce offers lije everyone does if they aren’t going to commit for real. Just don’t commit and then commit to someone else 4 days later.

I'm old school, too. You DON'T commit until you are done. That's like marrying and cheating.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work like that anymore. But should.
