UCF voice Erik Kohler pulls no punches. Our chat on the KP.

Bowling Green connection is very interesting.

Like idea of hiring UCF alum as A.D. from Bowling Green
and he brings in Dino Babins as Head Coach at end
of this season, in early December. We would need him
to bypass bowl game and start recruiting immediately for us.
Like Babins offensive coaching background.

Timing wise this would work out very well in our favor but don't
know all the candidates and considerations.

I like the idea of a UCF grad as the AD, but it wouldn't be the most important criteria for me. Certainly, all else being equal between two candidates it's a plus that he's an alum.

Also, I don't think it's a given that he would consider Babers the best option for UCF, just because that's who he went with at BGSU.

Best pick is A.D. who loves all UCF sports and UCF first. The NCAA and Big 5 have shown that they are against us. No behind the doors butt kissing is going to change this which leads to next position of HC.

Show me a HC with a winning record and we should consider them. Otherwise, no experiments like this season PLEASE. If the HC is good, we need to accept that they will use this job as a stepping stone.

We all agree that a WINNING football team gets the press and recognition. Nothing else markets like this!

read somewhere else that Parker Executive will be doing the Football Coach search after the AD pick

GOL loves (loved?) UCF sports, doesn't mean he was a good fit for AD. Passion and ability are both important ingredients and one does not replace the other. A UCF alum who is passionate about UCF is great, but if they're not also great at the job it's all for not. On the other hand, even the best AD is only going to accomplish so much for UCF if they just view it as a paycheck.
