A couple of posters would rather have easy access to a low paying New Years Day bowl then be the worst team in the P5. I disagree and of course when you read these news stories you'll agree with me.

TV contract - Kansas gets more than 20 million per year. UCF maybe 1 million.

College football payout pool - Kansas gets at least 5 million. UCF maybe 1 million.

Home football schedule - that in itself is another topic about what UCF fans complain about.

Kansas plays

rhode island
ohio
tcu
oklahoma State
iowa state
texas

UCF plays

South Carolina State
Maryland
Tulane
Temple
Cinci
Tulsa

Kansas fans are just spoiled because they've lived with being in the major conference since its inception. UCF fans that are college football fans would be happy to alternate home field with Texas, Oklahaoma, Baylor, TCU and West Virginia for example.

Its not close - Kansas.

As a fan of the team, I'd rather see them win their conference and play for the FCS championship every year, than lose annually at a higher level. As a fan, what do I care what TV contacts pay the coaches, trainers, and building up keep? I just want to see winning football.

Now, would I rather UCF compete for AAC championships or P5 championships? Obviously P5 championships.

Strange topic (still don't understand the comparison).

Even KU fans know to ignore football season...a program who's fans don't even know what its like to win a solo conf title...(ok 99% of them) as their last solo conf title came 85 years ago.

Please stop pretending that KU fans are "thrilled" with their past football embarrassment.

We are not thrilled trust me. And there is a surprising amount of support for the football program still. We had a glimpse in 2007 of what could be winning the orange bowl. In my years there as a player particularly 95 we finished #9 in the AP poll and won our bowl game against UCLA so we have had good years.

I remember those days when KU was relevant in football too. It wasnt just one year in the 80s and 90s, it was several years. Im glad KU fans know how valuable being a part of the P5 is. When the best of your conference gets the attention, they want in on it too. That said ive watched a couple of games on the Goal Line and the support was about the same as UCF.

Im sure UCF fans would endure an 0-12 season if they got to play Texas, Oklahoma, OK State and Kansas State for example at home. We couldnt even get 20k to the 2014 senior game against SMU. For many of our fans thats what its all about....playing Texas and not SMU on a regular basis. Add the 20 million and a chance at the playoffs if you win your conference and i'd rather be a regular bottom feeder with a once in awhile chance at a P5 title/playoff apperance versus a regular contender for the G5 NY6.

Was that a Monday morning or a Thursday afternoon and in what decade?

KU has only had 3 winning seasons out of the last 20.

Last solo conf title was 85 years ago.

Again, you have a weird/strange lovefest with this program.

I think you fell and hit your head and obviously got KU Football mixed up with KU Basketball.

Hey whats up with you hijacking this post?
I never said KU was winning national titles i said they were relevant. They were relevant enough to open a season against Florida State. they had decent records spread out between bad ones.
Why don't you answer the question! Would UCF fans put up with an 0-12 record more if they had Big 12 teams at home?
If not are you blind to the fact that posters have complained about our home schedule?
Would you rather have your school be paid 20 million and have a chance at the playoffs regardless of how weak your program is in the p5?
Or would you rather be paid a million and fight with 48 other schools for the NY6 spot even if your chance is better because youre considered the big fish in the little pond.

there is no obsession over Kansas. they just happened to have the worst record in college football out of the P5 and yet was paid more than Houston 1 loss Peach Bowl season..

So one is suppose to have a tizzie if 2 or 3 children, who are clueless about UCF's program history, whine about not wanting to see UCF play in EVERY home game?

I'd never give it much thought...let alone try to come up with a comparison that KU Football was a better option to go see or cheer for.

UCF has done well at any level it is in. and it will do just fine at P5 level. This school has plenty to offer and recruiting will quickly be up to a top 30 to 50 range. We were one of the better teams year one of Mac, before the 1st crash n burn. We rebounded a became one of the best in CUSA, and are The only team to win and share a title in AAC 's first 3 years. We will recover and recover quickly from last year. And if we moved to B12 we will recruit and compete at that level quickly as well.

There are few schools that offer more to incoming players than UCF. Weather, Location, Women, Education, Facilities and more. Enough of this be happy where you are crap. I want to compete for national titles,

Give the AD another 15 to 20 mil per year, and the FB stadium, and Baseball can both quickly be upgraded, and there is no reason we can't compete with anyone for recruits.

I agree and expect UCF to compete for championships at any level they play at. The question posed by the OP was to chose between winning the AAC or being the doormat of a P5.

Then it was a dumb question as that would never ever happen...as UCF would except ANY offer to join the P5...even if it came from the Pac-12.
