US to withdraw 12,000 troops from Germany in 'strategic' move

25,000 troops will remain in Germany and 50% of those 12K are being repositioned in Eastern Europe which happens to be closer to Russia - for anyone who can read letters on a map.

A gift to Putin!

When you put your support behind the demon jizz doctor I knew there was no low so your disingenuous point about saving money (military spending was not cut with this move) is predictable.

Youre here supporting the line that this is a “gift to Putin” and you’re talking about being disingenuous? Lol.

At least that nut doctor wears her insanity on her sleeve unlike you guys who just lie and bullshit for your partisan team

I don’t really care too much but it says 5400 will remain and be repositioned in countries like Italy and Belgium. Admittedly it is in the first sentence of the article so you may have missed it.

"A squadron of fighter jets would be moved to Italy while some troops could be relocated to Poland, Mr Esper said."

Not that any of it matters. It's not like we need troops somewhere faster than we can transport them there.

I guess he also can't read.

Yeah definitely some conflicting information in the article. They seem to confuse Belgium and Poland at different parts maybe?

You can tell why Shook Chicken is so excited in this thread, he wasted everyone's time for 3 years posting insane conspiracy theories about Russia that all blew up in his face, but he's all-in on these conspiracies on a personal level, so now he's going to use this story to see ghosts where they don't exist.

Maybe he and that doctor he hates so much should get CT scan together and a proper diagnosis.

What part that you read indicates we are relocating 6000 troops closer to Russia as you claimed? Which part indicated that this would lead to a decrease in defense spending?

Mostly because that's what stories that don't contain conflicting information had already reported and this has been widely known since Duda visited the WH.

The announcement is closely tied to the plan to increase the U.S. troop presence in Poland, a shift long-desired by Warsaw and Polish President Andrzej Duda. The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss plans not yet announced, said the moves will cost “billions” and require construction at bases in the U.S. to accommodate the additional forces. The officials said that in the future other troops would rotate in and out of Europe.

Call with putin 1 week ago. I wonder who is about to be hacked. My guess is that we get a big email drop in October.

Where does it say half the troops are moving closer to Russia and it will lead to a decrease in defense spending. Your own quote says the move will cost billions.

You clearly don't know much about this subject but this is nothing new; the drawdown in Germany that ya'll are hilariously freaking out about has been in motion since last year when Poland and the US agreed to create a new eastern-front US base and when Poland agreed to pay for most, if not all, of the base construction.

Also, Poland is actually meeting their 2% spending objectives to NATO and are wanting a US posture in their nation specifically to deter Russia.

But meh, gift to Putin and stuff.

Russia isn't a threat to us or eastern Europe. That was back in the 1980s.
As FC pointed out, "way back in the 2010s" (2014 to be exact) Russia invaded Ukraine and took Crimea. Ukraine is part of eastern Europe and stealing part of their land sure feels like a threat to me.
Trump and Putin had a phone conversation 1 week ago.
I'll bet Trump couldn't wait to give Putin the business about putting bounties on the heads of our soldiers in Afghanistan!!! Wait, what? Trump never mentioned it??!?

That's weird. As recently as 2012, Russia wasn't a threat to anyone.

Maybe along with the bounties, they talked about our blockade of their natural gas pipeline.

I know, right? Within 2 years of being told that Russia isn't a threat and that thinking they are is 1980s thinking, they invaded another country.
So Obama was full of shit but Trump nailed it when he said Russia should be our friend? How's that work?

Russia annexing a neighboring countries' territory happened under Obama's watch. His response was to do nothing, to include withholding lethal arms to Ukraine.

Trump authorized the sale of lethal arms to Ukraine to combat Russian soldiers.

Do you ever stop and think about things before joining Shook Chicken in conspiracy theories?

Yes and then I shared an article (that you omitted) that detailed how Poland had committed to most, if not all, of base construction.

I never claimed that it would cost the US billions first of all. I said the move would cost billions. Also I’m skeptical that Poland will be footing the bill for “construction at bases in the U.S. to accommodate the additional forces”. Is your claim that Poland is paying for base construction within the US to accommodate the incoming troops back to the US? I would say that’s highly unlikely. It makes sense they would help foot the bill for the unknown number (or according to you 6000) of troops being stationed in Poland.

For dirt on Biden. Trump still let Puty get Syria. He's weak on defense.
