It's another big weekend of official visits at UCF.

The most pressing need to fill is wide receiver. UCF has one commit (Cameron Stewart, who is solid) and is still looking to add as many as three more. The pitch is easy: With four receivers graduating and a fifth going to the NFL, there's an immediate opportunity for talented freshmen to start from day one.

Four receivers are expected this weekend, and all but one are currently committed to other places. Can the Knights pull off some flips with less than two weeks to go before National Signing Day?

Here's a breakdown of the prospects that will be in Orlando:

Visit Breakdown - Big-time WRs highlight weekend

The pitch if kids want to play under coaches with proven NFL development skills way way above and beyond the competition , come to UCF. It's as simple as that.

I always laugh at those who complain and whine about recruiting. We always come on strong in the end. We get the kids on campus and then we get commits. This class is shaping up quite nicely. We just got a commit from a 6 foot 7 inch TE and nobody said a peep.

we dont use the TE as a pass catcher very often...that could be the reason noone said a peep...but if we get a couple of these WR they will prob start or get time when we go wide...not sure if the db's will be good enough from day 1.

This is a very ambitious weekend with most of these kids committed to a P5 school. It should be fun when we flip one and the huggers talk about how well GOL closes and how the program is on the rise. Then it will be fun when we don't flip anymore and the haters will say how GOL is too old to recruit, too much coaching turnover and we are never going to improve with this dinosaur at the helm.

There was discussion in the Dungeon about him (maybe a future OT).

If you are looking for recruiting info/discussion...most of it takes place in the Dungeon (while this board does have from time to time good discussion...plus Brandon drops some free articles on here from time to time).

if u want to take the word of people speculating about turning a TE into a tackle...go ahead...speculating isnt fun to me...seeing what happens is.

Could be sour grapes, but the USC fans I read make it sound like he may have been informed his spot wasn't solid as they were running out of schollies to offer and they needed more defensive recruits.

Don't really care why. Kid would be the biggest get of alltime.

Many years ago when UCF was Division 1A we signed one of the top qbs/players in the nation including the gators.... Daunte Culpepper....

Not to downplay that situation, but it took some special circumstances to make that happen. If we pull this kid, it's cause we just simply out recruited the best programs in the country.

I dont think we outrecruited anyone...he realized he wasnt going to play much at USC for 2 or 3 years and he could play right away here....hope he can get some of his top friends to join him.

There are a number of programs with a need at WR, including Louisville. Emonee Spence committed there for that reason last weekend. I get what you're saying here but we still out-recruited other programs for Payton. The combo of being close to home, playing early, and having the ability to graduate are all tactics UCF coaches did use. Some buy in, others don't.

I think this kid has a good head on his shoulders and didnt fall for tactics....seeing USC recruiting classes for WR the last 3 years was telling him something...then looking at ours and how many are leaving just added up.
