Finebaum is so deep up the butt-crack of the SEC, it's amazing that people would listen to him opine on the Big 12. But that said, he's stating the obvious.
Sure, the Pac 12 is in tough shape because USC and UCLA's departure has gutted them. But the league's problems go far beyond that. The conference has always loved playing night games because West Coast fans have historically tended to have better things to do with their Saturday afternoons than go to a football game. But in this era of CFB, Pac 12 television has become a 'late night TV' ratings dud. It's meant most CFB fans find out Pac 12 scores on Sunday morning.
Whether its USC, UCLA in the B1G -- or perhaps Colorado and Arizona in the Big 12 down the road -- West Coast teams are going to have to adapt to a weekly schedule of East Coast and Central Standard Time Zone programming to survive in the future.
