We got our First 4 Star Recruit of the year!!!!

Tristan Payton committed to us yesterday.
It doesn't show on the main recruiting page but on the details. See link below
It also shows him as committed to us on the Ucf 247sports website.
He is ranked 95 on the ESPN 300 and is the only commit to a non power 5 school on that list.

Brandon also has it on his twitter page

He should come to UCF. He would be foolish to flip again. We have plenty of opportunities for immediate playing time, have and will put WRs in the NFL, and have some nice P5 games on our schedule. Immediate playing time is way underrated in college football. It's probably the reason that Josh Robinson is in the NFL and Josh Sitton is a stud. If Greenberry can go to Houston, then this kid can come to UCF. We have some of the best selling points for a WR in the country right now. No experience at the position and a strong armed QB. Other quality QBs in waiting as well.

Didn't happen yet, but did with WR Wilson. Rivals has him at 2 while a "rival" analysis has him at 3.

Wilson was always a 3 on rivals and Gibson was a 4 star. Our last 4 star WR was Josh Reese. Regardless, huge get.

I saw that Payton was a 5.9. That may be higher than Reese, Hiers, and Gibson. 5.9 is a really high rating and we have at least 3, 5.8 or higher rated prospects in the last 2 years.

Reese will be a solid NFL player?? That's a pretty bold statement. The fact that he MIGHT get drafted and MIGHT make a team is a more realistic assessment.

I think Reese was just unfortunate in that he came to UCF at a time when we just had some pretty special talent at WR, his among it. I think if given the chance, he'll impress some people in the NFL and could make a solid career if things go his way. Who knows though?

^^^^this. Reese has the size and speed. He's also willing to do whatever it takes to win. If he keeps doing that, he'll be a solid NFL player. Perennial winning teams like the Steelers & Patriots loved guys like Reese.

All were 5.8 (Hiers is 3*/5.7 now). Don't forget Torian Wilson was also a 4*/5.8. So 5.9 is the highest we've seen. We know stars don't matter here but hopefully Payton's talent translates onto the field for us.
