I just finished watching the FIU /FAU game, and they have a nice big trophy to put in their trophy case and use for recruiting. FAU only won1 game before today, FIU won 4, but FAU dominated, why? Because first their players arn not quitters, but the darn trophy means something. It's gone on too long, we need a trophy.
I suggest we call it the O'Leary/Leavitt I-4 War Trophy. When UCF wins, it's called O'Leary/Leavitt, when USF wins, it's call Leavitt/O'Leary. It memorializes the coaches that meant the most to each team when the rivalry started. The FIU/FAU trophy has opposite sides with their helmet on their side. We could have the opposite side thing for each team, but I don't want it to look the same. I think the scores should be on both side. I also thing a big metal football should be part of it. Championship trophy a always have big metal footballs. Something the coach can lift up, and the kids can kiss.
Shoot, if nobody at the universities will do it, how about the FIW's for each team go in together and make the darn thing, raise the money for it, share the cost and ideas for the trophy, and then get the universities to buy in.
We have nothing else to do this season except look forward to our end of the season bowl game.
