The bad news is that UCF is 0-4.

The good news is the slate is wiped clean as the Knights open American Athletic Conference play this Saturday at Tulane. Kickoff is set for 12 noon EST on ESPNews.

While non-conference was nothing short of a disaster, UCF is still the defending back-to-back league champs with an overall 15-1 league record the past two seasons. The Knights could potentially regain some footing and a little momentum if they can get their first win at Tulane and then follow it with a home victory against UConn on Oct. 10.

In order to do that, the Knights need to show signs of life on offense. It's been a struggle all season, even when Justin Holman was healthy in the season opener against FIU. Freshman Bo Schneider is expected to start again at quarterback while Holman continues to recuperate from a dislocated finger, though never say never since George O'Leary did reveal Holman was medically cleared earlier in the week.

Running back Dontravious Wilson, who had been out since midway through the FIU game, expects to make a return which gives UCF some much-needed experience in the backfield.

In many respects, Saturday's game amounts to a must win if UCF is to hold out any hope for a turnaround. They'll need to finish 6-2 in conference play just to attain bowl eligibility.

Here's a look at every game involving the American.
