Weird. Banning international travel is 100% constitutional. Banning domestic travel is not. Even Cuomo knows this and thats why he threatened to sue Trump when the topic of quarantine for new york came up.this is a real tweet:
China ban was useless as it only banned people with a Chinese passport. Not actual travelers from China who weren’t Chinese. Not effective in mitigating the spread of a communicable disease. It’s not clear from the article, but “travel restriction” could just mean you need to be vaccinated or have a negative test. Which seems almost common sense and could slow the spread.

Yeah but 35k people traveled from China after the ban. Once it was here the outright ban was pretty pointless. More effective would be some sort of testing.
So what you are saying is that the virus is gonna do what viruses do, and there is no stopping it. Slow it at best.
A 100% ban at first onset like what New Zealand did could stop it. But banning Chinese people while simultaneously allowing tens of thousands to travel in from mainland China won’t. I doubt it even slowed it.

Again, I agree. But just like an oil pipeline leak, once it happens, you're in trouble. But the sooner you can do something to stop it, the better off we all are.
I remember vividly the news stations showing long lines at O’hare and LAX customs complaining about US citizens being stuck because of the initial virus lockdowns. They ran it non-stop for days. There was no stomach in the public conversation for keeping US citizens out of the country due to COVID-19 and it was effectively used as a political tool against the administration. Let’s not ignore the crucible of that time because we would now like to have done things differently.

Amazing how much Biden likes to target Florida. The virus is what it is and vaccines are starting to roll out. Why take such drastic measures that will destroy our tourist economy more. It is like he wants something to brag about in 4 years.

What is the drastic measure he is taking? Just curious what you gleaned from the article that was a “drastic measure” considering no specific measures were mentioned.
There are no current restrictions he is implementing. The article states that they are looking at what could possibly be done to reduce the spread but doesn’t say they have narrowed it down to anything specific. It’s hard for me to be critical of a theoretical restriction which at this point is undefined. Certainly it could turn out to be something that I’m opposed to. But I’m not opposed to the mere idea of looking into things.
