I'll admit that I wasn't too enthused; my friend had tickets and generally I think grunge bands are boring and lame. But they actually put on a hell of a show. I think they did 32 songs in 3 hours and had very little talking inbetween songs, which is usually the most annoying thing about concerts.

The crowd was hilarious. A mix of 90s rock guys who now have families and lots of hipsters.

The least annoying thing they can say in between songs is, "this is something we're working on for a new album". I'm always open to that kind of guidance for when to hit the bathroom or concession stand.

Did you see Sirdingy and LMK there?

.

I've heard nothing but great things about this tour. I'm going to see them in 2 weeks at Jazz Fest in NOLA (if I don't wind up murdered beforehand). Granted it won't be like the 3 hours they've been doing, but I'm looking forward to it.

Vedder sounds awesome; sounded as good live as the albums did from the 90s.

Bring several pairs of shoes/sneaks...as if New Orleans ever gets some serious rain during 2 weeks of JazzFest...the infield at the Fairgrounds Race Track and turn into a mud pit. (They do try and throw down hay bales every AM to help with foot traffic areas...especially Week 2).

PS. Don't eat for a week prior to going...as you will want to try EVERYTHING they have to sell there....as some of the food options rivals anything you can find in the city.

Thanks for the info. I've been several times. We actually choose not to eat a lot at the actual festival. It looks good in theory, but generally everything's been sitting around and it's not very appetizing. Would rather save our appetite for in and around NOLA proper.

It was amazing and we were right up in front. One of the best concerts I've ever gone to.

And we were thrown Mike McCready's guitar picks. It was phenomenal.

I've been a PJ fan since 91/92. Like OBSESSED but have never had the ability (money, life etc) to see them live. I attempted in 2003 but it turned into a completely terrible day for me. So, being able to be THAT close during their 25th anniversary show was amazing. It's been my lifelong dream to see them live and I was blown away. So much energy and passion for what they do. To be able to still write and record amazing records these days, and sell out a 20k seat venue all these years later is amazing.

Their cover of Imagine was great. My favorite band playing LMK's favorite song. Speechless.

He is the Kirk Hammett of grunge rock. He lived on that wah wah pedal the entire show.

Sennheiser wireless, eh? Most big-name bands use Shure or even Line6 stuff. Not a knock against Sennheiser, I own an e609 as one of my amp mics. Good stuff.
