We're not going to the Big 12 imho:

Likely right, but we'll be sure to get in somewhere if/when P-5 expand to 16 teams.

If they go with 12, I don't think we get in. If they go to 14, then we have a very good shot. I wouldn't say that BYU is dead. And Cincy has to be the first pick. They give WVU a travel partner and they are far better in football and basketball (combined) than we are. Also, while not as large as our market, it is still a pretty decent sized market, plus it gives the conference another great state to recruit in. Going to 14 and getting BYU, Cincy, UCF and Houston gets them good TV numbers, 2 new recruiting hotbeds, and 3 schools who have at least participated in BCS/New Years 6 Bowl games. I like our chances at 14 much better than at 12. While we know how good we could become in a P5 conference, schools over 1,000 miles away might not be as aware or what we have to offer the conference. Hopefully, we make a very compelling pitch in the video interview. I think that should actually be the focus of our pitch; what we can offer the Big 12.

This is my message from one of the other threads. Like i said, take it with a grain of salt.

Take this with an extremely small grain of salt, but I had a convo with TheDudeofWV yesterday and this is what he told me.
Me: So whats the word around town then expansion wise? When will it be announced and who has the best chances from what you're hearing.

TheDude: Several factors at play.
If ESPN/Fox agree not to contend expansion then if UT agrees to extend GoR for UH votes then if OU agrees to ESPN/Fox requests it's UH & BYU or UCF.

Me:so as of now, the most viable candidates are those 3?

TheDude: Yes. I would say the only ones with a real shot for 12.

Then you also have GregFlugaur who went on a rant yesterday and said UCF is now 'hot'.

So I know this is all speculation at this point, but seeing our name being mentioned more in a positive light for expansion is never a bad thing.

Big-12 would be dumb not to take a stake in the Florida market - UCF and USF own larger TV markets.

When you look at it on paper UCF is a slam dunk. When you add in the politics, egos, payola and just overall old school mindset UCF falls behind schools with so much less to offer.

Well that settles it, I read on the internet that Sad says no UCF to B12. Has to be truth, its on the internet.
