It's a bit confusing to organize when you go prior to 2005, as football had its own divisional growth timeline that was separate from the other sports, e.g., from 1984 to 1990 we were DI independent, but for football we were a mix of DII and DI-AA independent. You get the point.
Also, I know that I put a kind-of artificial separator between TAAC/ASUN (1992-2002) and MAC/ASUN (2002-2005). The reality is that football was the only thing that changed in those combined timeframes, joining a conference for the first time in July of 2002. The other sports were all continuously in the TAAC/ASUN from 1992 to 2005. However, I felt that football joining its first conference warranted the separate option; felt like a different era for UCF.
